Jala Neti: Yogic Nasal Cleansing for Clear Breathing and a C

What Is Jala Neti?

 Jala Neti literally translates to “water cleansing” in Sanskrit, where "Jala" means water and "Neti" means cleanse. The technique involves pouring a sterile saline solution into one nostril and allowing it to exit through the other using a specially designed Neti pot. Safety Guidelines & Precautions

  • Clean your Neti pot thoroughly after each use.
  • Avoid practice during severe nasal congestion, active ear infections, or immediately after nasal surgery.
  • Do not lie down immediately after practice; remain upright for at least 15–20 minutes.
  • Children or elderly people should only practice under expert guidance.

When and How Often Should You Practice?

Best practiced first thing in the morning, before pranayama or asana practice.
Can also be done in the evening if exposed to dust, smoke, or allergens during the day.
For beginners: 2–3 times per week is sufficient.
For chronic sinus sufferers or advanced yogis: daily practice may be beneficial.
